“After 4 years of service to the State I have advised the Governor that I will be resigning my position at the end of the current term.
The respect and love you have shown me made this an extremely difficult decision.
My decision was reached after considering several factors. Primarily, there are projects in the business world that I want to pursue. The passing of my mother and mother-in-law this year made me realize more than ever that our days are limited. I just turned 69, so I made the decision to start now rather than later.
All of you are amazing. Because of you I have had the easiest job of my life for 4 years. Watching you work individually and as a team has been extremely gratifying. And the work you do is so very important to our citizens.
The DEP is truly…DRIVEN BY EMPLOYEE PRIDE!
I have no doubt that you will continue to thrive because of your core values.
I leave the agency with so many new friends.
Thank you again for all you have done for me.
I wish all of you the very best and hope to be able to be in contact with you before the end of the Governor’s term.”
