MOUNT HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The scheduling of yet another wrestling superstar has been announced by RetroReset Video Games and Collectibles.
As revealed during a special New Years announcement from the local establishment, WWE Hardcore legend, WWE Hall of Fame inductee, and four-time World Heavyweight Champion Mick Foley will be making his way to the Crossroads Mall in Raleigh County later this year.
While details on the nature of the event are minimal at the time of writing, Foley will be making his appearance on May 13th at the RetroReset’s recently opened Crossroads Mall location. The announcement comes shortly after that of fellow WWE Hall of Fame inductee Billy Gunn’s planned stop in the Mountain State.
Foley’s history in the wrestling industry is extensive, and saw the Attitude Era legend compete under a litany of names and gimmicks, many of which went on to become iconic in the business. These include those of Mankind, Cactus Jack, Dude Love, and Jack Foley.
Foley’s dedicated style of wrestling eschewed fancy technical maneuvers in favor of a highly physical approach utilizing exceptional ring-psychology.
Among the expansive list of achievements attained by Foley during his time in the business are 11 world tag team title reigns, a TNA Legends Championship, and that of having been the inaugural WWE Hardcore Champion – the latter, along with an array of physically grueling in-ring contests involving various weaponry and resulting in vast injuries, earned Foley the designation of “The Hardcore Legend.”
Attaining peak status during the WWE’s (then WWF) Attitude Era during the 1990s, Foley was integral in popularizing the Hell in a Cell match format which originally involved wrestling within a 16-foot, 5-sided, 2-ton chain-link structure surrounding the ring and immediate outside area. The size of the structure was eventually increased to 20 feet and 5 tons.
Foley in particular became known for taking awe-inspiring falls from the top of the structure, the most infamous of which occurred on June 28, 1998 at WWE’s King of the Ring ppv event during a match with The Undertaker. Foley sustained several legitimate injuries during the contest including a dislocated shoulder and jaw, a concussion, internal bleeding, bruised ribs, loss of several teeth, and puncture wounds among others.
Other notable bouts include a 2000 World Championship Hell in a Cell match against Triple H at WWE’s No Way Out Event, which featured extensive bloodshed and use of weaponry, and was essential in establishing the Triple H character as a fierce and resilient force to be reckoned with among the WWE roster.
Outside the wrestling ring, Foley is a widely celebrated author, having made the New York Times’ bestseller list multiple times for his ongoing series of memoirs. He has also written several children’s fiction books.
RetroReset Video Games and Collectibles will also be hosting a Hot Wheels Show at the Crossroads Mall location on February 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The show will feature car brands such as How Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, and more. More information on this event and more from RestroReset can be found at the RetroReset Facebook page.
