LYNCO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man was arrested Tuesday night following a reported domestic disturbance involving alleged threats of violence, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies say Corporal Tucker Cook was dispatched to a residence in Lynco at approximately 9:15 p.m. in response to a verbal domestic complaint. The caller reported that a man, identified as Brandon Acord, had arrived at the home and was attempting to gain entry.
Upon arrival, Cook observed Acord standing on the front porch and made contact with him. Acord told the deputy he was there to retrieve a key, according to the report.
The complainant told authorities that Acord had been making threats toward her throughout the day. She alleged that earlier in the evening, around 7:30 p.m., Acord threatened to find her and physically assault her, stating she would “go with an ass whooping” and that “it’s not a threat when it is going to happen.”
Deputies offered the complainant the option of obtaining a Domestic Violence Protective order. She indicated she planned to pursue one after family members arrived to assist with childcare.
Acord was taken into custody at the scene and charged with domestic assault. He was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department for processing.
No injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
