YADKIN COUNTY, NC (LOOTPRESS) – A Yadkin County teenager is arrested after an armed robbery at a Winston-Salem Bojangles.
On January 18th, 2023, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office was informed by the Winston-Salem Police Department of an armed robbery that occurred at a restaurant on Reynolda Rd.
According to the information received, the offender was last seen traveling toward Yadkin County in an older model multicolored truck. The license plate for this vehicle had been obtained, and the registered owner of the car lived in Yadkin County. Images of the vehicle and the offender were relayed to assist in identification and apprehension.
Deputies with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office attempted to locate the vehicle and contacted the registered owner. It was determined that Caleb Charles Hutchens, age 19, of East Bend, NC, was in possession of the described vehicle and responsible for the armed robbery.
Subsequently, Winston-Salem Police Department obtained a warrant for Hutchens’ arrest for one count of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Further attempts to locate Hutchens and the vehicle used in the robbery were made throughout the remainder of this day.
On January 19th, 2023, deputies responded to several locations in Yadkin County, attempting to find Hutchens or the described vehicle. Ultimately, deputies located both Hutchens and the car at a residence in East Bend, NC. Hutchens was arrested, served with the outstanding warrant, and placed under a $250,000.00 secured bond. He was given a court date of January 23rd, 2023, in Forsyth County.
During the apprehension of Caleb, additional information was gathered regarding subjects that assisted him in evading apprehension.
As a result, Casey Dwayne Messer and Destyni Kristian Messer of East Bend, NC, were arrested and charged with one count each of Harboring a Fugitive. Casey was placed under a $10,000.00 secured bond, and Destyni was placed under a $5,000.00 secured bond.
Both have a next scheduled court date of February 8th, 2023.
