PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A tragic house fire in Parkersburg claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy early Friday morning.
The fire broke out at a home on Elder Street around 1:30 a.m. Firefighters from the Parkersburg Fire Department responded swiftly, extinguishing the flames and discovering the young victim inside.
Investigators from the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office were called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
Their investigation remains ongoing.
The boy’s body has been transported to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and positive identification.
