GILES COUNTY, VA (LOOTPRESS) – A 14-year-old is dead following a shooting incident.
According to the Giles County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, January 19, 2024, at approximately 3:10 p.m. the Giles County Sheriff’s Office 9-1-1 Center received a call regarding a subject with a gunshot wound inside a residence.
Upon arrival, deputies found a 14-year-old male who had suffered a single gunshot wound.
The male was pronounced deceased by arriving EMS personnel. Only two other juveniles were home at the time of the shooting.
This is considered an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
The investigation remains active.
No other information on this incident will be released, including the names of the juveniles, according to police.
