KENTUCKY (LOOTPRESS) – A 17-year-old boy died after being shot in the head during a hunting accident in Crofton, Kentucky, on Friday afternoon, according to WKDZ Radio.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies told WKDZ that a preliminary investigation indicates the teen was hunting near Grapevine Road when a gun accidentally discharged, striking him in the head.
Emergency responders transported the teen to a Hopkinsville hospital by ambulance. WKDZ reported that first responders initially attempted to airlift him, but weather conditions prevented a flight.
He was later taken to a Nashville hospital, where he died, WKDZ said.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
