BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in southern West Virginia as the United Way of Southern West Virginia prepares to kick off its 17th annual Wonderland of Trees at the Tamarack Marketplace.
The festivities begin Friday, November 7, with a Business After Hours event hosted in partnership with the Beckley-Raleigh and Fayette County Chambers of Commerce. The Wonderland of Trees display will then open to the public inside Tamarack’s beautifully decorated venue.
“We are so thankful for community partners like Tamarack Marketplace who are invested in their community,” said Trena Dacal, Executive Director of the United Way of Southern West Virginia. “Not only does Tamarack provide an incredible destination, but the venue also offers visitors great dining options and holiday shopping.”
The annual Wonderland of Trees event ushers in the holiday season with rows of dazzling, creatively decorated trees — all up for bid. Proceeds from the event benefit United Way of Southern West Virginia, supporting its programs and nonprofit partner agencies that serve local families in need.
Visitors can enjoy the holiday décor, vote for their favorite tree for just $1 per vote, write letters to Santa, and even visit with Santa while exploring Tamarack’s amenities.
The event culminates with a live auction on Friday, November 21 at 6:00 p.m., where the coveted “People’s Choice Award” winner — the tree receiving the most public votes — will be announced.
