CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after breaking into a tobacco and vape shop.
According to a criminal complaint, on Monday, June 17, 2024, at approximately 12:48 AM, Charleston Police responded to Tobacco and Vape at 110 Patrick St. for a breaking and entering complaint.
An employee of the establishment called 911 reporting that a male had broken the glass of the business and was trying to make entry.
Several Charleston Police units responded to the scene and began to canvass the area.
An officer was able to locate a male matching the description of the suspect running across the Drug Emporium parking lot which is in the vicinity of Tobacco and Vape.
Police were able to apprehend the male who was identified as 18-year-old Taeon Pettigrew.
Once detained, Pettigrew admitted to breaking the glass of the business before fleeing the scene when an employee began yelling at him.
Pettigrew was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering. He is currently out on bond.
