MINK SHOALS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Elkview man faces charges after illegally breaking and entering a church property on Thursday.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reports that, on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at approximately 1:30pm, Deputy M.A. Wolfe received a tip regarding suspicious activity at Great Community Fellowship Church while conducting patrols in the Mink Shoals area.
Arriving on the scene at the church – located at 2740 Pennsylvania Avenue – Deputy Wolfe located a suspect outside the rear of the church.
The suspect – identified as Zachary C. Morgan, 18 years old of Elkview – was standing next to a broken window with glass shards surrounding him.
Furthermore, Morgan was in possession of a concealed handgun and also had a rock in his pocket. Evidence showed that multiple windows had been tampered with.
Following an investigation into the scene, Morgan was arrested for one count of Breaking and Entering and one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. He was arraigned by a Kanawha County Magistrate and a bond was set at $20,000 cash.
Additional charges are currently pending and may become applicable at a later date.
