BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – On Monday, September 20, 2021, a 19-year-old pleaded guilty to breaking and entering after he and another stole items from a church in October of 2019. Judge Andrew G. Dimlich presided over the morning’s hearing.
On October 12, 2019, Joshua Daniel Syner of Mankin Avene in Beckley and a juvenile female had entered into the First Church of the Nazarene and stolen numerous items before fleeing from law enforcement on foot. Following their arrest, the juvenile was released to a family member and Syner was transported to Southern Regional Jail.
All stolen property was returned to the church.
After pleading guilty on Monday, Syner was sentenced to one year of probation. Raleigh County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Josh Thompson explained that probation was given considering this Syner’s age and that this is his first offense.
