BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The 2024 Kids Classic Festival is currently underway, with the celebratory Kids Classic Festival Parade having just made its way through downtown Beckley.
Community members lined the sidewalks in anticipation as an assortment of vehicles were displayed as sweets and treats were tossed to eager youngsters observing the festivities.
Parade participants included 2024 Beckley Kids Classic Queen, Delaney Roberts, Shady Spring Cheerleaders and Marching Band, the Raleigh County Parks & Recreation Authority, The Salvation Army, The Cake Box, Beckley Police Department, Raleigh County Schools, the Bradley Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department, the City of Beckley Fire Department, and more.
An array of timeless characters could also be observed making their way through the downtown Beckley area as part of the Kids Classic Festival Parade. These included stormtroopers and other characters from the Star Wars universe, Ghostbusters, and Grimace & the Hamburglar of the classic McDonald’s marketing campaign, among others.
The festival’s Kids Fest street fair is currently ongoing and features various booths, games, activities, and more. The fair will continue until 2:00pm on Saturday afternoon.
