SHADY SPRING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The 2024 Shady Spring High School Homecoming Parade has been announced with reported plans to utilize an alternate parade route this year.

It was announced by Shady Spring High School that the 2024 parade will take place on Thursday, September 26, 2024, with lineup set to begin at 5:00pm at Shady Spring Middle School.

This year’s route will bring the procession from Shady Spring Middle School to Shady Spring High School.

“After working with the DOH, and with road construction the way it is, our parade route will be changing this year,” said Shady Spring High School in an announcement addressing the change. “We love our community and being able to share this long tradition together.”

For those planning to observe the parade festivities in person, spectator parking will be available in a limited capacity at Shady Spring Dentistry, the Shady Spring Library, Cline’s Feed Store, and Shady Spring First Baptist Church.

Route specifics have previously been a source of concern with regard to the yearly parade, and issues coming to an agreement with the WVDOH nearly led to the parade’s cancellation in 2022.

Additional information regarding the upcoming Homecoming Parade as well as other events and activities pertaining to SSHS can be found at the Shady Spring High School website.
