MONTGOMERY, VA (LOOTPRESS) – A 22-year-old Virginia man is confirmed to have passed away following a collision with a tree on Saturday.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 8:42pm on Saturday, August 3, 2024, Montgomery County Deputies responded to the 5600 block of Riner Road/Route 8 near the Broad Shoals Road intersection with regard to a single-vehicle accident.
Also responding to the scene at the time were emergency medical service units along with crews with the Riner and Montgomery County Fire Departments.
Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, responding crews reportedly discovered a Ford vehicle which had left the roadway from the left side and collided with a nearby tree.
Responding units are said to have quickly extricated the driver of the vehicle – later identified as Nathan Cole Jefcoat of Franklin County, Virginia – and initiated attempts at life-saving measures.
These efforts were unfortunately unsuccessful, and the 22-year-old Virginia man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by authorities.
