BERKELEY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A fatal traffic accident occurred late Friday morning at the intersection of Business Park Drive and Tabler Station Road in Berkeley County.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to the scene around 11:30 AM on September 27, 2024.
The crash involved a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a tractor-trailer.
The Toyota was found heavily damaged off the south side of the road with a single male occupant, identified as Allen Lee Nance, 25, of Martinsburg. Nance was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tractor-trailer, driven by Julio Gomez Cocar, 51, of Boyertown, PA, was located off the north roadside, with damage to the underside of the trailer.
According to initial evidence, the Toyota was traveling east on Business Park Drive when it collided with the trailer, which was turning left from a private drive.
The impact caused the Toyota to travel underneath the trailer before coming to rest off the road.
Investigators believe high speed may have been a contributing factor, though the incident is still under investigation. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
