PETERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 4-year-old boy has died following an ATV crash Wednesday evening in Grant County, according to the West Virginia State Police.
At approximately 7:15 p.m. on March 12, Corporal Charles S. Hartman responded to a crash on a power-line right of way in the Petersburg area.
While en route, Grant County Emergency Communications reported that three juveniles were being transported to the hospital.
Upon arrival, Corporal Hartman found a 2023 Can-Am Defender ATV on its side.
Emergency responders at the scene said three juveniles had been injured, including the 4-year-old, who was in critical condition.
The Grant County Medical Examiner later confirmed that the child had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at Grant Memorial Hospital.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
