WELCH, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A $50,000 Powerball ticket sold in southern West Virginia is bringing an early dose of holiday cheer to one lucky player.
The winning ticket matched four white balls plus the Powerball in Saturday night’s drawing, earning a $50,000 prize. The numbers drawn were 4, 5, 28, 52, 69, with the Powerball number 20. While no ticket matched all six numbers to claim the jackpot, 112 tickets nationwide won the $50,000 prize tier.
West Virginia’s winning ticket was purchased at the Welch Bantam Market. Lottery officials are urging the ticket holder to sign the back of the ticket and contact the West Virginia Lottery during normal business hours at 304-558-0500 for instructions on how to claim the prize. Lottery offices will be closed from December 24 through December 26.
The latest win marks the second $50,000 Powerball prize sold in the state within a week. Another $50,000 ticket was purchased last Saturday, December 13, at the Walmart on Hammonds Mill Road in Martinsburg. In addition, West Virginia has seen two top-prize winners in its in-state Cash 25 game over the past week.
Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot continues to grow, rolling over to an estimated $1.6 billion for Monday’s drawing, with a cash value of $735.3 million.
