HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Huntington Police Department last week seized a large amount of methamphetamine which reportedly holds a street value of $50,800.
According to the Huntington Police Department, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, members of the Huntington Violent Crime/Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle as part of ongoing drug interdiction operations.
Robert Earl Cureton Jr. was taken into custody by authorities following the traffic stop for active federal warrants issued for the distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
During the process of the arrest, members of the Huntington Violent Crime/Drug Task Force discovered a suitcase within the vehicle. The suitcase is said to have contained 11.2 pounds of methamphetamine valued at approximately $50,800.
The seizure of the drugs and the arrest of Cureton were reportedly conducted as part of an ongoing investigation by authorities into a Detroit-based drug trafficking organization which has been operating from the Huntington, West Virginia area recently.
