HAMLIN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities are investigating a robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Lincoln County.
According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers from the Hamlin Detachment responded to the 7-11 gas station in Hamlin on April 28, 2026, after receiving reports of a robbery.
Investigators say the incident happened as a store employee was attempting to make a bank deposit at City National Bank.
The assistant manager told troopers they were approached from behind by an unknown suspect, who grabbed them and threw them to the ground.
The suspect, believed to be a male wearing dark khaki pants, then took U.S. currency from the store’s bank deposit bag before fleeing the scene on foot.
No additional details about the suspect have been released at this time.
