MONROE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 77-year-old man died early Tuesday morning in a house fire near Peterstown, according to the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The fire broke out just before 3 a.m. on March 18 at a home on Seneca Trail South.
One person was able to escape, but the victim was unable to make it out.
A vehicle with an attached camper was also damaged in the blaze.
Due to the extent of the damage, investigators have ruled the cause of the fire as undetermined.
The victim’s body has been sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston for identification and an autopsy.
