FAIRLEA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The State Fair of West Virginia continues its celebrations on Thursday, August 15, with Military Day sponsored by WVAdultEd.
Gates will open at 8:00 AM, followed by the opening of carnival rides at 11:00 AM and the West Virginia Lottery at 12:00 PM.

The day’s entertainment will feature a variety of shows and activities, including:
FirstEnergy Live Wire Demo: 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM
Catherine Hickland: 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 4:30 PM
Hot Glass Academy: 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM, 4:30 PM, 6:00 PM
Live Shark Encounter Show: 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 5:00 PM
Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show: 11:30 AM, 2:30 PM, 6:30 PM
Zoe Jean Fowler: 12:30 PM, 3:30 PM, 5:30 PM
Live Shark Encounter Display (Open between shows): 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Butterfly Kingdom: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
The Open Horse Show will commence at 8:00 AM with Western Halter Classes, followed by Ranch Riding and Trail Classes at 10:00 AM, and the Open Horse Show at 4:00 PM.
The West Virginia Building will host cooking demonstrations at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, along with the Kroger Salad Fun Contest at 4:00 PM.
The day also includes a Grandstand performance by Bailey Zimmerman, featuring special guest Matt Schuster, at 8:00 PM.
The fair concludes this Saturday, August 17.
