MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University celebrated a blend of cherished traditions and fresh Homecoming experiences on Saturday, Oct. 19, with the crowning of Megan Frappier and Hannah Warden as the 2024 Homecoming Royalty.
The announcement came during the halftime ceremony of WVU’s Homecoming football game against Kansas State, held at Milan Puskar Stadium.

Frappier and Warden, both seniors, were selected by their peers after two days of voting.
They were joined on the field by the Homecoming Court, family members, the Mountaineer Marching Band, and thousands of cheering fans, including alumni.
Megan Frappier, a senior from Cliffwood, New Jersey, is pursuing dual majors in criminology and political science. She is active in several organizations, including the Project 168 Society, Women in Politics and Government Club, and Delta Gamma Fraternity.
She is the founding president of the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Peer Advocates and serves as a Diversity Ambassador. Frappier was sponsored by the Hip Hop Dance Team.
Hannah Warden, a senior from Cross Lanes, is majoring in health services management and leadership. She serves as president of the WVU Panhellenic Association and is involved with Chi Omega Sorority and the Mountaineer Maniacs.
Warden, who was sponsored by the WVU Panhellenic Association, also volunteers with the Multidisciplinary Unsheltered Homeless Outreach of Morgantown.
The Homecoming Court included several other students from various fields of study, representing diverse areas of the university.
In addition to the crowning, the WVU Alumni Association presented the 2024 Homecoming and Alumni Service Awards during halftime.
The awards recognized several distinguished alumni for their contributions, including Tracy Schoenadel and Laura Boyd as Outstanding Alumni, and Paul Lewis as the recipient of the David W. Jacobs Lifetime Service Award.
The weekend’s festivities also featured the annual Homecoming Parade on Friday, Oct. 18, with astrophysicists Duncan Lorimer and Maura McLaughlin from WVU’s Eberly College of Arts and Sciences serving as grand marshals.
