(LOOTPRESS) – The internet’s favorite food debate just got real: Is ketchup a smoothie? HEINZ and Smoothie King have teamed up to give a definitive — and drinkable — answer with the launch of the first-ever HEINZ Tomato Ketchup Smoothie.
Available for a limited time starting today, this bold new blend combines HEINZ Simply Tomato Ketchup with sweet acai sorbet, apple juice, strawberries, and raspberries — creating a fruity, tangy, and unexpectedly refreshing summer sip. The limited-edition smoothie will be sold at select Smoothie King locations across five major markets: Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Miami, and parts of the Greater New York and Northern New Jersey area.
“When we saw the ketchup-smoothie debate picking up steam online, we knew it was time to stir things up — literally,” said Angie Madigan, VP of Elevation Marketing at Kraft Heinz. “This smoothie is provocative, but more importantly, it’s delicious.”
HEINZ says the smoothie launches just in time for peak tomato harvest season, when the tomatoes used in its all-natural Simply Ketchup are at their ripest. The company’s ketchup — made with only seven real ingredients and no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives — adds a tangy depth to the smoothie, creating a flavor that’s both unexpected and crave-worthy.
Smoothie King, known for its Clean Blends promise, ensured the smoothie stayed true to its nutrition-first ethos. “After months of testing and refining, we landed on a savory-sweet blend that really celebrates the tomato in a whole new way,” said Lori Primavera, VP of R&D and Product Marketing at Smoothie King.
The HEINZ Tomato Ketchup Smoothie is priced at $5.70 and available while supplies last. Fans are encouraged to try it, cool off, and weigh in online using #KetchupSmoothie.
