RAINELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Rainelle authorities say reports of an active shooter in the area were unfounded, according to a statement from Greenbrier County Sheriff Bart Baker.
Sheriff Baker said there “is not nor was there at anytime an active shooter in Rainelle.”

Instead, deputies responded to what appears to be a domestic dispute in which an adult female shot an adult male.
The suspected shooter is in custody, and the firearm involved has been recovered. The victim was transported to a trauma center for treatment.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate and plans to release additional information once more facts are gathered.
