RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Republican Party has begun accepting applications to fill a vacancy in the State House of Delegates for House District 42.
Party officials announced that eligible applicants can now submit their materials online through the official application portal.
According to the party’s notice, interested individuals must first confirm their eligibility, complete the provided application form, and follow all instructions outlined in the submission process.
The application period will remain open until Thursday, December 25, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Once the application deadline passes, the West Virginia Republican Executive Committee is expected to review submissions and recommend qualified candidates to Governor Patrick Morrisey, who will appoint a delegate to complete the remainder of the unexpired term.
The seat became open after the recent departure of Delegate Brandon Steele.
Applications can be submitted through the party’s official website under the listing titled “House District 42 Vacancy Application.”
