WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 33-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges following a multi-county vehicle pursuit and arrest in Wyoming County, according to a criminal complaint filed in magistrate court.
Court records show Keith Anthony Hill, 33, was charged with fleeing with reckless indifference, conspiracy, driving revoked for DUI, and possession of a controlled substance following an incident that began in the early morning hours of Dec. 26, 2025.

According to the complaint, a Wyoming County sheriff’s deputy was on routine patrol around 2:09 a.m. on U.S. Route 52 in the Hanover area when he observed a vehicle traveling northbound with a defective tag light.
When the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop using emergency lights, the vehicle failed to yield and instead accelerated. The deputy then activated his siren as the pursuit continued.
Investigators say Hill continued driving at high speeds despite wet roadway conditions and heavy fog. During the pursuit, the vehicle crossed into Mingo County, where Hill allegedly passed a truck in a no-passing zone and continued toward Horsepen Mountain.
Authorities say he drove recklessly by passing additional vehicles at high speeds before turning onto a gravel roadway at the bottom of the mountain.
The complaint states the vehicle continued for approximately two to three miles, during which it was still operated recklessly, including driving through multiple water breaks. The vehicle eventually stopped, and Hill and a female passenger exited and fled on foot into a wooded area.
Deputies gave verbal commands for both individuals to stop, but they continued to flee. A K-9 unit was deployed, and Hill was located in a swampy area of the woods. The K-9 made contact, allowing officers to safely take Hill into custody. The female passenger was not located after a search of the area.
Hill was turned over to assisting officers from the Gilbert Police Department and advised of his Miranda rights. During questioning, Hill allegedly stated the female passenger told him to turn onto the gravel road because she believed law enforcement would not follow.
He also claimed there was approximately eight “balls” of fentanyl, estimated at about 3.5 grams, inside the vehicle, though officers were unable to locate fentanyl during the search.
However, deputies reported finding two pieces of aluminum foil containing a crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine—one in the center console and another on the passenger-side floorboard. Authorities said methamphetamine is a Schedule II controlled substance, and the suspected drugs will be sent to the West Virginia State Police Laboratory for testing.
A records check showed Hill’s driver’s license was revoked for DUI, according to the complaint. He was transported to a hospital for medical clearance before being taken to Southwestern Regional Jail.
The Gilbert Police Department assisted in the pursuit.
