BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Active Southern West Virginia (Active SWV) is preparing to announce a new race coming to Beckley in 2026.
The organization will unveil details of the Beckley-based event during a public announcement at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine.
“We’re excited to be offering a new race experience in Beckley for 2026,” said Melanie Seiler, Executive Director of Active SWV.
“This event will provide the local community with a race opportunity for people of different skill levels and will highlight the region to racers traveling to participate.”
The new race will expand opportunities for runners in southern West Virginia while also promoting Beckley as a destination for outdoor recreation and tourism.
Proceeds from Active SWV races support the organization’s free community programming, which is designed to improve access to physical activity throughout the region.
In addition to the newly announced Beckley event, Active SWV’s 2026 race schedule includes:
- New River Gorge Rim 2 Rim Race – May 2
- Howlin’ Trails 5K and 10K – June 6
- Thurmond Triathlon – June 28
- Bridge Day 5K Run – Oct. 17
Members of the media are encouraged to attend the March 4 announcement for full details about the new race.
