FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — Local students with a passion for the arts now have an opportunity to receive financial support for their education as the Fayette County Community Foundation has reopened applications for the Nora M. Reed Scholarship.
The scholarship is available to students who reside in Fayette County and plan to pursue studies in visual art or music through a college or art school program. One student will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to help further their education.
The award honors the legacy of Nora M. Reed, a former Fayetteville High School student who played the flute and was known for her artistic talent. Reed had a deep love for crafting and painting, and the scholarship reflects her passion by supporting students in similar creative fields.
Applicants are required to complete an online application and submit a sample of their artwork or musical ability. The scholarship is specifically limited to students pursuing visual or musical arts and does not apply to literary or performing arts programs.

The Fayette County Community Foundation, which administers the scholarship, works to promote local giving and improve quality of life across the county.
