RANDOLPH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Randolph County man was arrested Saturday after authorities said he made repeated false 911 calls reporting zombies, ghosts and a UFO at his residence in West Virginia.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded May 17 to Chick Drive in the Kerens area after receiving multiple emergency calls from Clinton Wayne Nelan.
Deputies A.G. Vanscoy, Cpl. B.M. Roy, Trooper H.J. Bonetti and Officer S. Davis responded to the scene.
Investigators said Nelan claimed he was being harassed by numerous individuals and also falsely identified himself as a police officer from Louisiana.
Authorities determined the incidents Nelan reported had not occurred and said he knowingly misused the local emergency telephone system.
Nelan was arrested on charges of misuse of a local emergency telephone system and impersonating a law enforcement officer. He was transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail to await arraignment.
The incident remains under investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
