BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An adult male was hospitalized Friday after deputies discovered him outside the entrance to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office headquarters with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found the man on May 29 and immediately rendered first aid while awaiting emergency medical personnel.
The sheriff’s office said deputies were assisted at the scene by members of the West Virginia State Police and the Beckley Police Department.
Emergency Medical Services transported the man to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released information regarding his condition.
Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The incident remains under investigation, and no additional details will be released until the investigation is complete, according to the sheriff’s office.
