PENDLETON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A rock climber died Saturday afternoon following an accident at Seneca Rocks, according to the Pendleton County Office of Emergency Management.
At approximately 2:25 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, Pendleton County 911 dispatched numerous emergency personnel to Seneca Rocks for what was later confirmed to be a fatal rock climbing accident on the east, or back, face of the formation.
Officials said numerous individuals and agencies were involved in the recovery of the victim.
The Pendleton County Office of Emergency Management extended its condolences, stating, “Our prayers are with the Family and Friends of the victim.”
No additional information about the victim or the circumstances surrounding the accident has been released.
