BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Best Ambulance Service has officially ceased operations after 33 years of serving the community, according to an announcement from the company.
The ambulance service said operations ended at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2026.
“After 33 years of proudly serving our community, Best Ambulance Service will officially cease operations effective August 28, 2026, at 1600 hours,” the company announced.
Best Ambulance did not provide a specific reason for the closure in its announcement, but said the decision was difficult.
“This was not an easy decision. We are incredibly grateful to our employees—past and present—who dedicated themselves to caring for our patients and serving our community throughout the years.”
The company also thanked the patients, families, healthcare facilities and community partners it worked with during its more than three decades of operation.
“We also want to sincerely thank the patients, families, healthcare facilities, and community partners who placed their trust in Best Ambulance. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve you.”
Best Ambulance described the service as more than a business for the family behind it and said it remains proud of the impact its employees made over the years.
“Best Ambulance has been much more than a business to our family, and we will always be proud of the difference our team made in the lives of so many people.”
The company concluded its announcement by thanking the community for its support and trust throughout its 33 years of service.
