PINEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man was arrested on a domestic battery charge after allegedly slapping a woman and damaging walls during an argument at a residence, according to a police report.
The suspect, identified in the report as Joshua, had left in a silver Nissan Altima before an officer arrived. Two women answered the door, one of whom was visibly upset and crying. The officer transported both women to the Pineville Police Department to provide statements.
The women told police the dispute began earlier that evening in a vehicle. According to the report, one woman acknowledged striking Joshua in the groin. Both women said he then drove erratically after leaving a dollar store and slammed doors upon arriving at the residence.
The argument continued inside, where Joshua allegedly knocked a phone from a woman’s hands and struck her in the face. The statements expressed uncertainty about whether the contact with her face was intentional. One woman also reported pushing him away during the confrontation.
According to the report, Joshua followed the woman through the house, called her names and told her to kill herself. He then allegedly slammed a door, knocked out a section of wall and used a small pry bar to punch holes in a wall before leaving.
Approximately two hours later, Joshua arrived at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, where the officer arrested him for domestic battery.
Police said Joshua subsequently called one of the women and blamed her for his arrest because she had called 911 and provided a statement. He declined to give a statement to the officer, according to the report.
