WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – All Wyoming County schools will reopen Monday, October 12, and resume normal operations following a week of closures related to health concerns, according to the Wyoming County Board of Education.
The school system announced Saturday that all schools will return to their regular schedules, including Mullens Elementary & Middle School, Wyoming East High School, and Westside High School.
Those three schools remained closed through Friday while cleaning and sanitation efforts continued. Other schools in the county had already resumed operations following a countywide closure earlier in the week.
According to the Wyoming County Board of Education, ServPro has completed its cleaning and sanitation work at the schools, allowing all facilities to reopen Monday.
The school system thanked ServPro, the Wyoming County Health Department, custodians, maintenance crews, transportation employees, administrators, teachers, and others who assisted throughout the process.
Officials also expressed appreciation to families and students for their patience during the disruptions.
“The health and safety of our students and staff will always remain our top priority,” the school system stated.
The closures followed concerns involving a skin-related health issue that prompted additional precautionary measures and cleaning throughout the county’s schools.
With sanitation efforts completed, all Wyoming County schools are expected to return to their normal schedules Monday.
“We are excited to welcome everyone back on Monday and look forward to getting back to what matters most — educating our students!” the school system stated.
