BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The holiday season is just around the corner, and the United Way of Southern West Virginia is preparing to celebrate the 18th annual Wonderland of Trees, a beloved community tradition that brings together holiday creativity, generosity and the spirit of giving.
This year’s event will once again be hosted by Tamarack Marketplace, where beautifully decorated Christmas trees will be on display from Friday, November 6, through Friday, November 20, 2026. The display will be open to the public daily from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., offering visitors an opportunity to enjoy the holiday beauty while supporting an important community cause.
The trees are generously decorated by local businesses, churches, schools, civic organizations, clubs and individuals, each bringing their own unique creativity and personality to the event. From traditional holiday elegance to whimsical and imaginative designs, Wonderland of Trees offers something for everyone to enjoy.
“We are incredibly grateful for the organizations and individuals who make this event possible year after year,” said Trena Dacal, Executive Director of United Way of Southern West Virginia. “Each tree represents more than beautiful decorations. It represents people who care about their community and are willing to give their time, talents and resources to make a difference for their friends and neighbors.”
Dacal also expressed appreciation for the continued partnership with Tamarack Marketplace. “Tamarack Marketplace is such a wonderful partner for this event. Not only does it provide a beautiful setting for our trees, but visitors can also enjoy exceptional West Virginia artistry, delicious dining and holiday shopping while they’re here. It’s a partnership that truly celebrates the best of Southern West Virginia.”
Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the display, enjoy the festive atmosphere and vote for their favorite tree with a donation of just $1 per vote.
The celebration will conclude on Friday, November 20, with a live auction beginning at 6:00 p.m. All decorated trees will be available for purchase during the auction, providing a wonderful opportunity to take home a beautiful Christmas tree while supporting United Way’s mission. The tree receiving the most votes during the public display will also be recognized with the annual People’s Choice Award. Proceeds from Wonderland of Trees benefit United Way of Southern West Virginia, supporting direct services and nonprofit partner agencies that address critical needs throughout the organization’s seven-county service area. These efforts help provide essential resources to children, families, seniors and individuals facing difficult circumstances.
