Man charged after choking child

MONTCALM, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Mercer County man is facing child abuse charges.

According to Mercer County deputies, Justin Wyatt and his wife were arguing at their home. A child yelled for her stepfather to stop, and Wyatt then grabbed the child by the throat with both of his hands and began choking her.  The wife yelled at him to stop.  Wyatt let go of the child and left.

The wife was afraid to report it but was tired of being mentally and physically abused.  Pictures of the child’s neck showed redness and bruising from being choked.

Wyatt is charged with child abuse resulting in injury.
