PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wood County man was arrested on Friday on charges pertaining to the attempted solicitation and seduction of a juvenile.
According to the Parkersburg Police Department, on Friday 5/12/23, Detectives with the department facilitated the arrest of Douglas B. Cunningham, 38 of Parkersburg, after he had arrived at a prearranged location with the intention on of meeting with and engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
The arrest occurred as the result of Cunningham previously having initiated a conversation via computer with an undercover detective whom he believed to be a fifteen year old female.
Cunningham reportedly sent photos of his face and genitalia to the individual he believed to be a female juvenile. He spoke about engaging in sexual activity during the conversation.
Cunningham faces charges of soliciting a minor via computer and use of obscene matter to seduce a minor. Cunningham was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court where he failed to post $50,000 bond and was then transported to North Central Regional Jail.
