MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man has been arrested again for distributing and possessing child porn.
Scotty Hicks, of Davy, WV, was arrested after a months-long investigation by WV State Police. During the investigation, officers say Hicks, a registered sex offender, failed to register as a sex offender for a second time. A cyber tip was received of an upload of child porn that was uploaded and shared on Discord. The upload occurred in Wyoming County and was transferred to McDowell County.
It was later determined that multiple Gmail accounts and usernames were used by Scott Hicks, who had numerous pictures of children naked. Police discovered children being sexually assaulted by adults and dogs.
Hicks was charged and convicted of 52 counts of distribution and exhibiting minors in sexually explicit conduct back in July 2017. Hicks was currently out on parole.
Hicks admitted to police he created the accounts and was actively using them.
Hicks has been charged with child erotica, failure to register as a sex offender, and permitting minors to film sexually explicit material. He is being held in Southwestern Regional Jail under a 170,000 dollar cash-only bond.
