BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — Theatre West Virginia is offering discounted registration for its professional training academy courses through January 1, 2024, according to academy manager Sam Jenkins.
Students may enroll in a 12-session course for a discounted rate of $150 or two 12-session courses for $250. Courses will afterward be $200.
Courses will include “Dance for Actors,” “Elementary Acting (K-5),” “Advanced Acting (6-12),” “Acting for the Camera,” “Musical Theater,” “Youth Improvisation (K-5),” and “Adult Improvisation (K-5).”
Instructors include Nick Yurick, Jax McAtee, Sam Jenkins, Stevie Jenkins, Michael Martin, and Donnie Coleman.
Classes will begin on January 23, 2024. The semester will culminate with a recital in April 2024.
“Whether you’re an experienced performer or trying theater out for the first time, our classes will be fun for all ages and will help students to grow in their art and confidence,” Jenkins said.
Most classes will be held at Theatre West Virginia, 715 North Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV 25801, two doors up from The Register-Herald building. “Acting for the Camera” will be held at United Bank, 129 Main St., Beckley, WV 25802.
