FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two out-of-state people living in a tractor-trailer were arrested after a fight broke out between them at Fayetteville Walmart over fecal matter on the bed sheets.
On September 7, 2024, Corporal J. Rice of the Fayetteville Police Department had just cleared a previous call at the Fayetteville Walmart when a bystander flagged him down in the parking lot. The bystander reported an ongoing altercation between a male and a female in a nearby tractor-trailer. The witness stated she observed a female in the passenger seat who appeared to be screaming and being choked.
Corporal Rice was in close proximity to the alleged incident. As he approached, he observed a male subject in the driver’s seat being hit and slammed against the window. Corporal Rice immediately exited his patrol vehicle and intervened, ordering both individuals out of the truck and onto the nearby grassy area.
The male, Jeremy Raheem Washington, claimed the female, Janessa Arianna Hernandez, had been hitting him and fighting with him, which Corporal Rice had witnessed. Hernandez stated she had asked Washington to get up and change the bed sheets in the truck, as there was fecal matter on them, but he refused and began throwing things at her, escalating the situation to physical violence.
Corporal Rice observed Hernandez hitting Washington and slamming him against the window. Hernandez also reported having a bruise on her right leg from where Washington had punched her. Both parties were taken into custody for domestic battery, as they share a child who is currently living with Hernandez’s parents in Nevada while she has been residing with Washington in his company work vehicle.
The incident occurred at 204 Town Center Rd., within the municipal limits of Fayetteville.
Corporal Rice transported the two individuals to the office for processing and then to the Fayette County Magistrate Jefferies for arraignment.
