HURRICANE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A fight over a female going to hang out with friends and a cup she was drinking out of in Putnam County led to the arrest of Randy Lynn Cole, who now faces charges of Domestic Battery and Unlawful Restraint.
Deputies responded to Clymers Creek Road after receiving a distress text from a female stating, “Help, hurry 911.” A concerned friend alerted authorities, citing past incidents where Cole had allegedly held the victim against her will.
Upon arrival, deputies heard yelling from inside the home. Cole answered the door, and officers found Love visibly shaken, with a 2-inch gash on her head and dried blood on her face. When questioned, the victim downplayed the injuries, claiming she hit herself with a cup. However, she later admitted that Cole had taken her car keys, threatened to slash her tires, and refused to return her identification documents.
Further investigation revealed that Cole allegedly grabbed the victim’s hair while driving and had previously threatened to burn her documents if she didn’t comply with his demands.
Based on visible injuries, witness statements, and evidence, Cole was arrested at the scene and transported to the Putnam County Courthouse for processing.
