GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic dispute in Greenbrier County led to the arrest of a woman after an altercation at a residence on Alta Drive in Asbury.
Deputies B. Mitchell and W. Cutlip of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to Alta Drive following reports of a domestic incident. Upon arrival, they spoke with a female victim, a resident of the home, who reported a physical altercation with Angel Highlander, another occupant of the residence.
The victim told deputies that the argument began with a verbal dispute, during which she threw her phone to the ground. Highlander allegedly picked up the phone and acted as though she would throw it into the sink. The victim claimed that as she reached for her phone, Highlander grabbed her arm and bit her. In response, the victim stated that she pushed Highlander forward to free herself, causing Highlander to hit her face on the stove.
Afterward, the dispute reportedly de-escalated back into a verbal argument.
Highlander admitted to biting the woman but described the bite as not severe, saying, “It wasn’t hard enough to break the skin of an apple.” Highlander also reported facial pain from hitting the stove, though deputies noted no visible redness or injury.
Emergency Medical Services assessed Highlander at the scene. She declined further medical treatment, stating that she was fine.
Deputies observed a small cut on the victim’s leg from the altercation but no visible bite marks on her arm.
Highlander was arrested on charges of domestic battery and transported to the Southern Regional Jail for processing.
