BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The much-anticipated debut album from West Virginia’s own Alabaster Boxer, Currency of Dreams will be available in a few short hours as listeners eagerly await the midnight release of what promises to be a spectacular display of creativity from the heart of the Mountain State.
The project, characterized as an assemblage of the Americana, Pop, Bluegrass, and Rock genres, draws from an array of influences cultivated by the project’s architect, singer/songwriter and musician Nick Durm.
Durm’s longstanding reputation in the local music scene – established in no small part through his work with acts including The Boatmen, Old School Abbey, and his solo work – has opened the door for the curation of a litany of heavy-hitting contributors, each of whom assist in elevating Currency of Dreams by way of their respective creative instincts.
Such collaborators included Durm’s former bandmate Randy Gilkey, Drew Lawrence, Jason Lockart, Chandler Beavers, Brian Bell, Fitzpatrick ‘FM’ Turner, Bill Fraley, and Corey Lee McQuade, along with special guests Philip Bowen and Emily Hancock.
The lead-up to the album’s release has been driven by the single release, “West Virginia Heat” as well as multiple live performances, the next of which is set to take place on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the album release show at Dunbar, WV venue The Shop.
The show will also feature performances from Ginger Wixx and Hello June, the latter of whom are gearing up for an album release of their own in the Fall. Doors open at 8:00pm and performances are slated to begin at 9:00pm. Physical copies of Currency of Dreams are also expected to be available at live events.
Currency of Dreams will be available everywhere digitally on Saturday at midnight. For more information on Alabaster Boxer and the upcoming project visit the Alabaster Boxer Facebook page.
