BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Governor Patrick Morrisey joined local leaders and community partners to mark the opening of Amazon’s first operations facilities in Davisville and Beaver, a move expected to bring jobs and faster delivery services to residents across the state.
The new facilities are projected to support approximately 500 jobs, including positions for Amazon employees and delivery drivers working through local delivery service partners.
Officials said the addition of these partners will also create further economic opportunities for small businesses in the region.
“Amazon’s continued investment in West Virginia marks an important milestone for our state,” said Governor Morrisey. “These facilities in Davisville and Beaver represent more than just buildings – they’re a sign that West Virginia is growing and competing for major employers.”
The governor emphasized the impact on delivery services, noting that residents will begin seeing Amazon trucks operating locally for the first time.
“For the first time, West Virginians will see Amazon delivery trucks operating right here at home,” said Governor Morrisey. “That means faster delivery, new jobs, and more opportunity for our communities.”
According to state officials, the expansion is part of a broader trend of private sector investment in West Virginia. Since last October, the state has announced $12.8 billion in private investments and more than 11,000 projected jobs.
When combined with public sector initiatives such as the BEAD program and the Rural Health Transformation Program, totals reach $14.3 billion and more than 12,000 projected jobs.
Unlike traditional delivery stations, the Davisville and Beaver facilities include small-scale fulfillment operations designed to speed up access to commonly ordered items such as household goods and pet supplies.
This setup is expected to allow for faster delivery times, including same-day service in some nearby areas.
“With hundreds of quality jobs offering competitive wages, this investment will strengthen our communities and create new opportunities for hardworking West Virginians,” Governor Morrisey said.
“We look forward to continuing to work with Amazon as they grow here and build a partnership that delivers for West Virginians for years to come.”
