In an emotional statement posted to Facebook, Wolfe expressed his sorrow, revealing that Fritz passed away last night.
“It’s with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night,” Wolfe wrote. Reflecting on their decades-long friendship, Wolfe described Fritz as a “dreamer” who was “just as sensitive as he was funny,” emphasizing that what viewers saw on television was the same genuine person behind the scenes.
Wolfe recalled their time together on American Pickers, marveling at how their shared passion for adventure took them to places they never expected.
“Who would have ever dreamed we would share the cockpit of a white cargo van in front of millions of people interested in our adventures?”
The two friends began their picking journey long before the cameras rolled, traveling to unknown destinations with only the hope of discovering something historic.
Wolfe cherished the countless trips they took and the memories they created over the years.
“I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home,” Wolfe said. “I love you, buddy, and will miss you so much. I know you’re in a better place.”
