WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – In response to the severe flooding that swept through Ohio County over Father’s Day weekend, the Appalachian Power Foundation has donated $50,000 to support recovery efforts.
The funds will be directed to the Ohio County Emergency Management Agency to help provide immediate assistance to residents and businesses affected by the disaster.
The support will be used for emergency needs such as food, shelter, and recovery services.
Floodwaters caused significant damage across the area, destroying homes, disrupting essential services, and displacing families.
Many residents are now facing difficult circumstances as they begin the process of rebuilding.
“Communities come together in times of crisis, and we stand ready to support Ohio County during this challenging period,” said Brad Hall, vice president of external affairs for Appalachian Power.
“Our commitment is to not only restore what has been lost but also to help strengthen the resilience of the community moving forward.”
