BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Appalachian Power is set to replace power lines in Beckley as part of a reliability improvement project, with temporary traffic stops expected during the work.
The upgrades will take place from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 1988 Robert C. Byrd Drive, weather permitting.
The new, larger power lines are designed to enhance service reliability and support the growing electric demand from new businesses in the area.
Appalachian Power crews will conduct the work with assistance from traffic control personnel and local law enforcement to manage road disruptions.
Appalachian Power, a division of American Electric Power, serves 1.1 million customers across Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee.
