ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) — Athens-Concord Town Social organizers have set the date for the 37th annual event and hope this year’s participants are ready to Let the Good Times Roar! The day of fun, food, and festivities will take place on Sunday, August 17, 1-4 p.m., on the front lawn of Concord University and, as always, will coincide with CU’s new student orientation weekend.
Food and artisan vendors, community groups, local businesses, school organizations, and more are encouraged to showcase their talents and services, as well as join the tradition.

“Mark your calendars for a fun-filled afternoon. This year’s theme, Let the Good Times Roar, promises an energetic celebration of community spirit with delicious food, local vendors, children’s games, live music, and a special presentation of community awards,” Hardy said. “Bring the whole family and join neighbors, friends, the Athens community, and Concord University for one of the area’s most cherished summer traditions!”
Vendors are encouraged to register early. Registration fees are as follows:
- $10 for a space without power
- $15 for a space with power
- $25 for food trucks or hot food vendors.

Local car enthusiasts will also showcase their classics and newer-model prized vehicles at the social’s car show, slated for noon to 3 p.m. across Vermillion Street. Prizes to be awarded include President’s Choice. The car show has grown in the years since it joined the ACTS. Registration will take place 11 a.m. to noon, on-site only.
