OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two people have been arrested following the attempted burglary of an Oak Hill residence.
According to a criminal complaint, on September 15, 2024, Oak Hill police officers responded to an attempted burglary at a residence on Noble Street.
The homeowner reported seeing two individuals, a male and a female, attempting to break into her home.
According to the complaint, the suspects were identified as 39-year-old Michael Fitzwater and 36-year-old Sara Blackburn.
They were observed trying to enter the property through a window but fled when confronted.
The homeowner reported the incident to the police, who later located and detained the suspects near the scene.
Upon investigation, officers confirmed the suspects matched the descriptions provided by the homeowner.
The male suspect, Fitzwater, was seen trying to open a window marked with a “No Trespassing” sign, while Blackburn acted as a lookout.
The homeowner stated that after the suspects failed to open the window, they attempted to open a door before she shouted at them to leave.
Fitzwater and Blackburn were both arrested and charged with Attempt to Commit a Felony and Conspiracy.
The suspects were transported to Southern Regional Jail where they remain on a $20,000 bond.
