BARBOURSVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Cabell County woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking her boyfriend during a domestic dispute that turned violent.
Deputies first responded to Little Fudges Creek Road in Barboursville on June 3, where Donald Wallace reported that his girlfriend, Christina Marie Johnson, showed up at his home banging on the door with a hammer. According to Wallace, Johnson scratched his face during the encounter, drawing blood before fleeing the residence. He later reported that Johnson returned later that night and stole a cherry wood chest from his porch.
Nearly two weeks later, on June 14, authorities were once again called to a disturbance—this time at Fudges Creek in the Ona area. Trooper T.A. Ellis of the West Virginia State Police responded and spoke with both Wallace and Johnson about the incident.
Johnson told officers the two were involved in a verbal argument that escalated when Wallace allegedly pushed her to the ground. However, officers noted that Johnson was wearing white pants with no signs of dirt or mud, despite the ground being wet, casting doubt on her account.
Wallace, meanwhile, claimed Johnson charged at him and scratched his face during the argument. Trooper Ellis observed visible, linear scratch marks consistent with a clawing motion on Wallace’s left cheek, and noted he was bleeding from the injuries.
Based on the evidence and consistent witness statements, Johnson was placed under arrest.
A criminal background check revealed Johnson had a prior conviction for domestic battery in 2019, and a previous charge from 2018 that was later dismissed.
Johnson is now facing charges of:
-
Domestic Battery (2nd Offense)
-
Domestic Assault (1st Offense)
She was transported to the Western Regional Jail following her arrest.
